MYNET BRINGS MILLENARY FIBER OPTICS AND TECHNOLOGY TO THE FAIR
MYNET BRINGS MILLENARY FIBER OPTICS AND TECHNOLOGY TO THE FAIR
09/01/2022
MANTUA – If it is true that Fiera Millenaria is synonymous with agriculture, it is equally true that today more than ever agriculture itself cannot ignore technology. This is where Mynet’s participation in the 2022 edition of the Gonzaga event kicks off, scheduled from 3 to 11 September, with a packed calendar of events designed to spread the concepts underlying technological innovation applied to everyday life to a broad and varied audience like that of Millenaria.
All the initiatives on the calendar will take place at stand 30 in pavilion 4 where, in a 24 square meter space completely open and accessible to the public, there will be mini-seminars, online games, PC tests and, why not, even opportunities for pure fun.
The first event is scheduled for the opening day of the fair, Saturday 3 September, at 6 pm with “Meet Mynet’s optical fibre!”, an aperitif and a chat with the company staff to learn together, in a completely informal context, the potential of optical fibre for families, workers and students. Then at 8 pm, space for the first main event branded Mynet @ Millenaria 022: for the first time at the fair, “Mynet Gaming Arena” arrives, an unprecedented opportunity to play and test the exclusive Mynet optical fibre dedicated to the world of gamers. Three PC stations with access to Xbox Cloud Gaming will be available to visitors to test Mynet optical fibre with the most popular games online today, such as Forza Horizon 5, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, My Friend Peppa Pig, Dragon Ball Fighterz, Fortnite, Mortal Kombat 11, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge and Minecraft Dungeon. The collaboration with GameScore (www.gamescore.it), a web platform for video game information officially born in 2017 from the merger of the two well-known information sites IndieReviews.it and HwGeek.it, which will coordinate the challenges with pad and cursor, is fundamental.
«As usual, we are the only ones in our sector to let you experience first-hand, at the events we take part in, our product par excellence: real optical fiber together with our Mynet router - begins the General Manager of Mynet, Giovanni Zorzoni. - Cloud gaming services have only been known for a few years, but they are inevitably destined to become an important slice of the market. This is a type of game that is even more sensitive not only to speed, but also to the quality of the Internet connection. In fact, the speed of the network is as important in gaming as its stability and very low latency, exactly what Mynet has always guaranteed to all its customers. What we want to do through our event at Fiera Millenaria is to demonstrate that you don't need a particularly high-performance PC to play online; essential, however, is a high-quality fiber optic connection, like the one offered by Mynet: this really allows you to enjoy particularly fluid gameplay but also to do other things while playing (such as chatting or streaming), to use the connection at the same time as other people at home, or to access a game server at a time of particularly high traffic. Try it and believe it!».
“Mynet Gaming Arena” will also return on Sunday 4th, from 10 am to 12 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm, together with the video game experts from GameScore, and will remain accessible for the entire duration of the fair with an active station. Also on Sunday 4th at 6 pm, Mynet will close its first fair weekend with the mini-talk “Fiber optics and home automation: what you need to know”: the meeting, favored by the growing availability of ultra-broadband even in the most isolated rural areas, will take stock of the present and future characteristics of the “home system” and its rapid evolution into a smart home thanks to fiber optics; a real cultural and technological revolution that is leading to radical changes in all phases of the building process, from architectural design to the energy and plant technologies used.
The appointments with Mynet will resume on Saturday 10th at 6 pm with “Aperifibra in musica”, an aperitif with a DJ set by Mynet, while on Sunday 11th, the final day of the Millenaria, the “Maratona micro-talk LugMan” will arrive, a series of mini-seminars dedicated to technology organized in collaboration with the Linux Users Group of Mantua: starting at 3 pm with “Coding and robotics - Demonstration of programming with Scratch and educational robotics with Mbot and Microbit”, at 4 pm “Digital and respect for the environment - Electricity consumption of digital, environmental impact and good practices”, at 5 pm “Protecting privacy on the net - Privacy, phishing and personal data on the net”, finally at 6 pm “Security in home WiFi - How is the network made? Advantages and risks of WiFi”.
"Talking about the environmental impact of digital, security and privacy protection online means addressing issues that are now part of our daily lives - continues Zorzoni. - Simple operations such as sending an email involve activities that we do not see but that have a strong impact, starting from greenhouse gas emissions due to the use of energy by our computers and devices, use of water and impact on the territory resulting from the extraction, construction and distribution of metals and other materials that make up our vast global digital infrastructure, and much more. An example: just one hour of videoconferencing can emit up to 1 kg of CO2 and require up to 12 liters of water, but turning off the camera saves over 98% of these emissions. If we then move on to the topic of privacy and personal data - adds the DG of Mynet - the topics to cover are almost infinite. To begin with, our personal data is collected and processed in many different ways on the internet, often putting us and those around us at risk. Well, as a general rule, you should not provide personal data to an online service without knowing how the data is used. But unfortunately, this is not enough. The seminars organized in collaboration with LugMan will help us take stock of all these topics, in a simple, accessible and immediately applicable way".
Not just agriculture, therefore, but also a lot of technology this year at the Millenaria Fair with Mynet. The appointment is at stand 30 - pavilion 4, with free admission to all events. For info: tel. 0376 22 22 00 - home@mynet.it
