FREE WI-FI ARRIVES IN POZZOLENGO WITH MYNET
POZZOLENGO (BRESCIA) – After having connected all institutional offices to FTTH (Fiber To The Home – real optical fiber right inside the building) at very high speed at the beginning of 2021, the Municipality of Pozzolengo takes another decisive step forward towards digitalization: in fact, the installation of the new free wi-fi system active in the area dates back to a few days ago, the result of a project carried out in record time by Mynet, a leading telecommunications operator in all of northern Italy.

Funded under the WiFi4EU community call for proposals with the aim of increasing connection opportunities for the community, Mynet's intervention in just one day of work led to the activation of 13 new free wi-fi points with 1 Gigabit/s of total bandwidth available in five vital locations for the country, starting from the perimeter of the municipal headquarters in Piazza della Repubblica, entirely served by three high-performance access points, capable of covering the parking lot adjacent to the church together with the commercial activities of Via Gramsci and Via Ridello. Also with regard to the Municipality, the refreshment and waiting areas for the public at the entrance and on the first floor are now served by the power of fiber optics, as well as the adjacent training room, which offers users a dedicated connectivity service, in addition to the council chamber, the venue for administrative sessions and ceremonies.

The cultural center of the library has also been significantly strengthened to allow students to follow video lessons with the stability and speed of fiber; and always with the young in mind, the Piazza Don Gnocchi in front is now also covered, entirely served by free wi-fi.

An important technological leap, moreover, for schools: the elementary school's computer room has been equipped with its own access point, ideal for training courses; in the same way, the very popular middle school auditorium can now host dozens of simultaneous users connected to free wi-fi. The project is completed by the local police headquarters and, in detail, the Civil Protection rooms.

The arrival of free wi-fi was welcomed with enthusiasm by the citizens, who began to use the access points right from the early stages of the installation intervention. All the wireless points are now fully operational and connected to the Mynet pure fiber optic network to provide the best possible performance. The registration procedure is very quick, which citizens can complete independently in less than twenty seconds. To use the connection, users simply have to connect to the WiFi4EU network and register by entering their telephone number; the registration remains active for 24 hours and can be renewed every day.
