HUAWEI NETWORK SUMMIT 2024
Mynet CTO Matteo Dalla Bà presented, at the “Huawei Network Summit 2024” #HNC2024 event held in Munich on September 30, the software extension running via Huawei's NetEngine 8000 M14 platform and conceived by our company for a particular application of MAP-T, the “static MAP-T.”

Realized in-house by our company and for our partners for the delivery of high-efficiency residential services, this feature, unlike standard MAP-T, allows the delivery of an IPv6 service with IPv4-as-a-service by means of the “Mapping of Address and Port using Translation” technique with static assignment of IPv4 and related port ranges, in addition to the IPv6 prefix: this greatly simplifies log compliance and enables customers to perform stable IPv4 port forwarding, which is extremely useful for video surveillance systems, IoT and other advanced technology solutions.

“Presenting this solution conceived and implemented totally in-house,” the CTO explains, ”was exciting and reflects the daily effort put into improving the products we provide to customers. He adds, “In Mynet, engineering, prototyping, software development and beta testing/implementation in a controlled environment are activities that coexist and are totally managed from within, testifying to the level of excellence that an Italian SME that constantly invests in research and development can achieve.”

“We want to thank Mynet for the collaboration in the joint development aimed at the evolution of networks from IPv4 to IPv6 in the variants that the market requires,” said in turn Alexandre Grandeaux, CTO of Huawei Enterprise Italia.

At the moment the solution is compatible with all of the company's recommended modems/routers, but Mynet professionals are working to further expand compatibility.
