CASTEL D'ARIO, MYNET ACTIVATES THE WIFI4EU PROJECT IN RECORD TIME

CASTEL D’ARIO (MANTUA) – Thirteen connected antennas, for a total of ten areas of strategic interest served by free wi-fi with 1 Gigabit/s of total available bandwidth: these are the main numbers of the intervention carried out in recent weeks by Mynet and financed under the WiFi4EU community call with the aim of increasing connection opportunities for the inhabitants of Castel d’Ario.

Before the Easter holidays, the telecommunications operator activated the new wi-fi points, among which appears the central Piazza Garibaldi, full of commercial activities and refreshment points, now served by a latest-generation access point connected to Mynet’s 1 Gigabit fiber optic.

Great interest was given to the green area between the castle and the fair district: the area is now covered by three free-use access points serving the multipurpose field, the carousel area and the one near the spaces used for the very important Fiera del Riso.

The adjacent sports hall was also the subject of intervention, where from today it is possible to use the wi-fi service from the stands to follow and broadcast live events.

Piazza Nuvolari, another hub of social aggregation and meeting place for the very young, is now served by wi-fi and dedicated fiber optics branded Mynet.

Last but not least, there are the institutional offices, such as the town hall and the nursery, primary and secondary schools, where in the common areas, in the computer rooms and at the reading points a dedicated guest connection is now active for the use of personal devices, available to users and for events of all kinds.

The installed wireless points are already fully operational and are all connected to the Mynet pure fiber optic network to provide the best possible performance. The registration procedure is very quick, which citizens can complete independently in less than twenty seconds. To use the connection, users simply have to connect to the WiFi4EU network and register by entering their telephone number; the registration remains active for 24 hours and can be renewed every day.

In the Castel d’Ario area, meanwhile, the work of extending the infrastructure of the Mynet fiber optic network continues: just a few months ago, the telecommunications operator’s teams activated the FTTH (Fiber To The Home, real fiber optics right into the building) connections of all the municipal public offices and the industrial areas of Via Roma and Via Roppi, which already navigate at 300 Mbit/s speed; the areas north and south of the city center are also connected to the FTTH infrastructure.
