IN CURTATONE MYNET ACTIVATES THIRTEEN POINTS FOR FREE WI-FI

CURTATONE (MANTUA) – With the activation of the Infopoint of Grazie, at the suggestive complex of the former Foro Boario, the installation works of the new wi-fi network of the Municipality of Curtatone were completed a few days ago. Thirteen connected antennas, five outdoors and eight indoors, for a total of ten areas of interest served by free wi-fi with 1 Gigabit/s of total available bandwidth: these are the main numbers of the intervention, carried out by Mynet and financed under the WiFi4EU community call with the aim of increasing connection opportunities for the inhabitants of the town.

Numerous centers of social, cultural and public interest have been activated over the last few weeks, starting with the civic halls of Levata, Montanara, Eremo and San Silvestro, widely used by associations and during events, and now served by latest-generation fiber optic connections capable of satisfying a high number of simultaneous connections.

The town hall square of Curtatone, the splendid Corte Spagnola, and inside the busy council chamber, an important place of debate for local political life, were also completely covered.

Particular attention was also paid to the hamlet of Buscoldo with the cultural center represented by the Teatro Verdi (the entire stalls are connected to wi-fi) and, not far away, Piazza Enzo Lombardelli, served by two powerful access points for young people and customers of the numerous commercial activities in the area, together with the playground.

Last in order of time is the Infopoint of Grazie, a nerve center for tourists, served both on the ground floor and on the upper floor with the conference room.

The installed wireless points are already fully operational and are all connected to the Mynet pure fiber optic network to provide the best possible performance. The registration procedure is very quick, which citizens can complete independently in less than twenty seconds. To use the connection, users simply have to connect to the WiFi4EU network and register by entering their telephone number; registration remains active for 24 hours and can be renewed every day. A few days after activation, more than a thousand devices have already registered to use the service.

In the meantime, the infrastructure extension works of the Mynet fiber optic network continue in the Curtatone area: the latest interventions by the telecommunications operator in the San Silvestro district date back to just over a month ago where, to minimize tampering with roads and sidewalks and, consequently, inconvenience for citizens, it “shared” the excavations with the water service manager AqA. The new routes covered by the network extension are Via Garibaldi, Via Trieste, Via Trento and part of Via XX Settembre, which are added to Via Amendola, Via Bianchi and Via Aresi.
